Join the Rhythm Revolution: Beats on the Streets – Youth Drumming Project in Bridgwater and Taunton.

Are you under 18 and have a passion for drumming? Or maybe you’re just curious and want to try something new? Whether you’re a seasoned drummer or have just started out, the new youth drumming project, Beats on the Streets, is your chance to unleash your rhythm and be part of something truly exciting.

Beats on the Streets is a dynamic new project bringing together young drummers in the Taunton and Bridgwater areas. Led by the talented young drummer Sean O’Hara, alongside professional drummers Emma Holbrook and Jo Meikle, this project is all about creating vibrant, energetic drumming groups that anyone under 18 can join. The sessions are being held in Taunton and Bridgwater.

From the thunderous beats of Hip Hop to the infectious rhythms of Samba, rock and dohl, you’ll explore a wide range of musical styles and create your own unique sound. This isn’t just about playing music—it’s about forming a community, learning new skills, and having a blast while doing it.

The project has been created by Sound of the Streets, a charity that creates street music festivals and education projects and inspires and supports children and young people to make music and is funded by the Make Music Repeat programme run by local based Actiontrack and Taunton Town Council.

The Sound of the Streets is a charity creating festivals, parades, concerts, education projects, CPD days and workshops. They run two youth bands and inspire and help young people to play wind, brass and percussion and support this activity with resources, podcasts and films, exploring the history and traditions of outdoor music and celebratory sound.www.thesoundofthestreets.com
