We provide instrument hire at competitive rates to all children and young people learning an instrument in Somerset.
We can supply most orchestral instruments but do not hire out pianos, keyboards or drum kits
About Instrument hire
Somerset Music offers low cost instrument hire to children and young people across Somerset. Subsidised rates are available to those in maintained schools and academies across the county and additional subsidies are available to children and young people who are entitled to free school meals, pupil premium and/or children looked after.
We have a stock of specialist instruments such as Taiko and large percussion, which are available for commercial hire as well as class sets of instruments available for school hire on a half termly or annual rate. The rates for this hire can be found on the prices section of the website.
Somerset Music also have a a selection of Music Technology, this is available to hire.

Instrument hire at competitive rates is now available to all children and young people learning an instrument in Somerset.
Termly hire will be billed in advance of the start of the term. We hold a good stock of instruments but at times please be aware that hire will be subject to availability.
Charges from September 2025

Those schools/settings participating in Classroom Instrumental Learning (CIL) is free.
Full and half sets of class instruments are available for schools to hire on either a half termly or annual rate.
