French Horn Ensemble Day – Sunday 12th October, Wells Cathedral School
The day is open to French Horn players aged 18 and under of any ability, and will focus on ensemble playing in smaller and massed horn ensembles, coached by a wonderfully inspiring and supportive team of French Horn players and teachers. The day is presented in association with the Royal College of Music, and I am delighted that we will welcome their Horn Quartet, alongside Zoë Tweed, a member of the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra horn section and professor of horn at the Royal College of Music.
The day will include:
- Smaller ensembles to develop ensemble and horn playing skills
- Massed horn ensemble
- Lunchtime performance given by tutors and RCM Horn Quartet
- Paxman trade stand – an opportunity to try out some instruments and accessories
- Informal performance given by all the horn ensembles to family and friends at the end of the day, in the spacious acoustics of Cedars Hall.
The cost for the day is £40, however cost should not be a barrier to attend and a limited number of bursaries are available upon application.
