Our Staff

All our staff are recruited in line with Somerset County Council’s Safer Recruitment Policy and are DBS checked in accordance with SCC guidelines.

Safeguarding Training for all staff is renewed every two years and Glyn Bowen, Service Director for Somerset Music, is an SCC/SSE Designated Safeguarding Lead. There is a clear policy for raising any concerns which is shared with staff and updated as necessary.

All our tutors are observed delivering a lesson in school on an annual basis and any gaps in knowledge or skills are dealt with promptly through guidance from senior staff members.

We provide training and CPD opportunities for all staff through regular Inset days which add to the skills and knowledge they take into the classroom.
