FREE Concert for KS4 students with BSO
Description
We are delighted to invite your GCSE and BTEC music students to a FREE concert presented by the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra (BSO), specially designed to support KS4 music education.
Presented by BSO Associate Musician Patrick Bailey, the concert will explore the development of music from the Baroque period to the present day. It includes a live composition segment, featuring ideas submitted in advance by students, offering an exciting opportunity for them to see their creative input brought to life.
This engaging concert will feature an ensemble from the BSO performing a programme tailored to the GCSE syllabus, including:
- J.S. Bach – Orchestral Suite No. 2 in B minor, BWV 1067: Final movement (Eduqas)
- Béla Bartók – Hungarian Pictures: Dance (AQA)
- Terry Riley – In C (AQA)
- Will Goodchild – Surviving Paradise (Edexcel / AQA / OCR / Eduqas)
This is a fantastic chance for students to deepen their understanding of musical styles, instrumentation, and compositional techniques in a live, interactive setting.
We hope you and your students can join us for this inspiring musical experience!
